Spring Cleaning with Kids: The First Closet Purge of 2026

Image
I opened my 4-year-old's closet last weekend and clothes literally fell on my head. Not a shirt or two. A full avalanche. Tiny pants from when he was 2. A onesie that somehow survived three kids. A Halloween costume from 2024 that I swore I donated. It's April. The weather is finally turning. And I realized: half this closet doesn't even fit him anymore. Sound familiar? The Spring Closet Reality Check Here's what I found in one closet: 47 shirts (he wears maybe 8 on rotation) 12 pairs of pants that are too short 3 winter coats (we live in Jersey City, not Antarctica) A bin labeled "6-12 months" for my now-1-year-old who is solidly in 18 months This isn't hoarding. This is parenting. Kids grow stupid fast, and we're all just trying to keep up. The Three-Pile Method That Actually Works I tried the Marie Kondo thing once. "Does it spark joy?" My kid's stained dinosaur shirt sparks JOY, but it's also two sizes too small and has a mysterio...

Thanksgiving Vibes: Family, Fun & All the Fall Feels

Hey BUBS fam!

It’s that time of year again—Thanksgiving is here! Even if you don't celebrate it, it's a chance to press pause, hang with the people you love, and reflect on what matters (hint: pie is always on the list ).

Whether you’re hosting the feast, heading out of town, or keeping it low-key, Thanksgiving is all about making memories, sharing laughs, and soaking in those cozy family vibes. Here’s what we’re looking forward to this weekend:

Thanksgiving Highlights:

1. Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade:

A total classic! Those giant balloons, the floats, and all the marching bands are such a vibe. If you’re watching from home, grab a blanket, some hot cocoa, and let the kids pick their favorite balloon (Snoopy is always a crowd-pleaser).

2. Food, Food, and More Food:

Thanksgiving dinner is the main event. Let the kids “help” (or at least pretend to), pile your plate high, and don’t even think about skipping dessert.

3. Post-Dinner Fun:

Feeling stuffed? Same. Grab some board games, queue up a holiday movie, or just lounge around while someone “accidentally” falls asleep on the couch.

4. Weekend Adventures:

From tree-lighting ceremonies to local markets, there’s always something happening this time of year. Check out what’s going on nearby and dive into some festive fun.

5. Walk It Off (Or Try To):

After the big meal, take a stroll with the fam, enjoy the fall colors, and get ready for a second round of pie because, let’s be real... you’re gonna have it anyway.

Wishing You All the Good Stuff:

Whatever your plans, we’re wishing you a weekend full of love, laughter, and leftovers. If you’re traveling, stay safe, and if you’re staying in, enjoy all the cozy vibes.

We’re so grateful to have this amazing BUBS community—y’all are the best! From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!
